For Christians, the Lent season is fast approaching. The Liberating Lineages Collective is pleased to offer weekly emails during Lent with resources for the Year A lectionary gospel readings – texts that can be a challenge to wrestle with, especially in the Gospel of John. Though created with white Christians in mind, these resources are for everyone who is curious about a different way of approaching these stories that have historically been used to harm and exclude. As always, our text work will be rooted in collective liberation and committed to dismantling fascist/imperialist, antisemitic, white supremacist, and other harmful readings of these stories.
Additionally, we’ll be hosting a webinar on February 23rd at 8pmET / 5pmPT that will focus on addressing antisemitic/anti-Jewish readings of the Gospel of John texts by locating the gospel in its Roman Imperial context, re-orienting the stories as acts of anti-imperial imagination. You won’t want to miss this!
